Sun international is pleased to announce that Peter Guthrie will be moving from Meropa Casino to Carnival City Casino as their new Slots Manager from 1 November 2020.
The move is part of the hotel and leisure company’s Talent Mobility process.
After matriculating from Kingsway High School in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Guthrie furthered his studies at Wits Business School and obtained a certificate in Programme and Management Development. In addition to this, he has attended multiple in-house training courses including the Business Leadership Programme and Slots Management Development Programme to name a few.
Guthrie joined the group in 1989 and, over the years has held various positions.
Guthrie brings a wealth of experience to Carnival City, having worked in the hospitality and gaming industry for over 31 years. Starting off his career at Sun International’s Wild Coast Sun, Guthrie has moved around in the company and worked at various units including the group’s iconic Sun City in the North West Province.
He has held the position of Slots Shift Manager at Sun City; Assistant Slots Manager and Slots/Operations Manager at Naledi Sun; Slots Manager at Flamingo and Meropa Casino. He was the General Manager at Flamingo Casino and most recently, the General Manager at Sun International’s Meropa Casino in Polokwane.
