Kenya Airways has reduced the baggage allowance on its intra-Africa routes to one bag per passenger.
Previously the airline allowed passengers flying in economy from one African country to another two bags with a maximum weight of 23 kilograms each.
The allowance is now one bag, with charges applicable for extra luggage.
Kenya Airways will implement a new baggage policy that will entitle its guests to a 20% discount on any extra bag purchases up to 24 hours to departure.
In addition to reduced extra baggage fees within intra-Africa flights, customers will be entitled to one free bag in economy at a maximum weight of 23 kilograms per passenger.
The airline has stated that the intra-Africa one bag allowance will not apply to economy class passengers travelling to and from other continents.
Business class passengers still retain their allowance of two bags, at no additional cost, weighing a maximum of 32 kilograms per bag.
