Background
Opened in October 2010 as a member of the Starwood Hotels Group stable, Four Points by Sheraton has established itself as a quality hotel, covering both the leisure and business markets. It is well situated and offers a number of facilities and eating options, as well as good access to leisure activities.
What’s it Like?
For the business traveller, this hotel offers the opportunity to refresh and relax after a busy day at the office or work from the hotel in comfort. Furthermore, it also caters to the leisure guest, with the design and layout lending itself to elegance and style. From a facilities point of view, there are five restaurants and bars, an in-house hairdresser, dry-cleaning facility, spa facility, state-of-the-art gym, swimming pool and meeting facilities. Further to that and as part of the Starwood Hotels policy, Wi-Fi and Internet services are offered free to non-guests for up to an hour, which is unique to the area.
Where is it?
It is ideally situated in Lekki, just minutes from the financial nerve centre in Victoria Island – the location of a number of multinational corporations. The location also provides a great base for exploring Lekki Peninsula, with its sprawling beaches, shopping malls and tourist attractions. If you’re a golfer, the hotel is situated close to Ikoyi Golf Club, as well.
Room Facilities
Four Points by Sheraton has 234 spacious, air-conditioned rooms with double-bed options. The rooms fall into each of the following categories: traditional, preferred, executive and suites. Each room is furnished with a flat-screen television with DStv (satellite television) bouquet. The room where I stayed in was elegantly finished, with a lovely view of the Lekki Peninsula. The rooms all come standard with tea and coffee-making facilities, an electronic safe large enough to hold a laptop, an iron and ironing board, and a desk which is big enough to use for office work. Wireless and Internet connectivity is available at a fee.
Restaurants & Bars
The Brazzerie Restaurant offers a full English or Continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served from 07h00-10h00, lunch from 12h00-5h00 and dinner, 19h00-22h00. There are nights set aside for themed cuisine, such as the Latino Night and Italian Night. I was fortunate enough to experience Latino Night and the food was outstanding.
The Adrenaline Sports Bar is a traditional sports bar, offering a high-energy atmosphere and environment and dominated by the live sport available on large plasma television screens.
The Office is the place to lose one’s tie and let one’s hair down. It offers scenic views of Victoria Island and the roof-top terrace is just the place for some after-work relaxation.
The Blue Bar is a pool bar, where you can enjoy a swim, a drink and some down time, either on a bar stool or a sun-lounger.
Cafe Cappuccino is the lobby bar and provides another option to socialize with or entertain guests. It’s the perfect place for some time to yourself, casual or business chat and there is the complimentary Wi-Fi.
Business Facilities
Four Points by Sheraton has six fully-equipped meeting rooms and conference halls. These rooms offer capacity from 16 to 250 people, depending on the seating style. The rooms all boast projectors and flip charts and are perfect for workshops and conferences. There are also copy and printing facilities. These rooms are always in demand, so booking well in advance is essential.
Leisure Facilities
The leisure facilities are impressive, from the sparkling pool next to the Blue Bar, to the spa, to the state-of-the-art gym, which is equipped with plenty of exercise options and weights – perfect for the business traveller looking to stay in shape, whilst away on business. Further to that, there is access to a personal trainer and aerobics classes.

The Four Points by Sheraton Lagos caters effectively for the business traveller, ticking all the boxes required for an executive to enjoy a comfortable stay, with all the required amenities and convenient location. Further to that, it also offers the leisure traveller a comfortable base from which to enjoy the surrounds of Victoria Island/Lekki Peninsula.
