Fastjet increases frequency to Mbeya

After launching its Dar es Salaam-Mbeya route earlier this month (see story here), fastjet has announced that it is increasing the frequency of flights, in response to a high demand from its customers for additional capacity.

From 24November, a Sunday flight will be added to the existing timetable, and from 17December fastjet will operate an additional three flights a week, bringing the total number of flights per week between the two cities to seven. Tickets for additional flights are already on sale.

The route, which was launched on 1 November, has achieved an average load factor of 97.5%, with a number of flights selling out completely.

In other news, fastjet has appointed Holiday Aviation as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in South Africa, following the recent launch of its first international route between Dar es Salaam and Johannesburg (see story here). Holiday Aviation will be able to book and issue any fastjet ticket, manage changes to bookings directly on fastjet’s reservation system, and handle general day-to-day queries from travel agents and the public.
