KQ suspends flights to Abu Dhabi

916

Kenya Airways has suspended its direct Nairobi-Abu Dhabi flights and will deploy the aircraft on more profitable routes.

According to eTurboNews, as many as three B737-300s will be turned over to KQ’s in-house low-cost carrier Jambojet, leaving Kenya Airways somewhat short of short and medium-haul jets. This is perhaps another reason prompting the decision to halt KQ flights to the capital of the UAE and rather book its passengers on the corresponding daily A320 flight on Etihad.

Jambojet’s fleet is being reconfigured with an all-Economy Class cabin and repainted in their own pink livery after leasing the three aircraft from KQ ahead of starting flights from Nairobi next month (see story here).
