Air Namibia cancels flights to Ghana

Air Namibia has announced plans to terminate its Windhoek-Accra route from 26 June.

According to the airline, limited traffic on the route is the main reason for the termination, dating back to the first phase of the Accra operation which took the form of a Windhoek-Johannesburg-Accra schedule. After considerable re-assessment, the airline opted to introduce a direct service that was aimed at growing traffic levels. Initially, traffic numbers increased, but the numbers were not high enough to sustain the route, and reaching the desired economic levels will likely take too long.

Air Namibia will continue its presence in the West Africa region through partner airlines such as South African Airways and Kenya Airways.

Passengers booked on an Air Namibia flight to Ghana beyond the termination date will be taken care of by one of the airline’s partners.
