According to eTNW, the United Kingdom’s visa system is to be overhauled to reduce processing time and red tape.
Instead of a choice of 15 visa types, applicants will have to choose from only four: visitor (standard); visitor (to hold marriage or civil partnership); visitor undertaking permitted paid engagements; and visitors transiting the UK.
Under the new rules, travellers will be able to combine a business trip with a holiday in the UK on a single visa.
