According to eTurboNews, Safarilink will soon connect the Kenyan capital with Vipingo Ridge with a new domestic service.
Vipingo Ridge is home to one of Kenya’s premier coastal golf resorts and, from 1 July, will be accessible with a direct flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. Currently, it is necessary to fly via either Mombasa or Malindi to reach the resort.
The 1.5 kilometre-long hard-surface airstrip near the entrance of the Vipingo Ridge Resort will be able to accommodate single and twin engine light aircraft, as well as larger turboprops like the Dash 8 which Safarilink operates.
This service will greatly benefit residents of the northern coastal towns from Mtwapa to Kilifi, who will soon no longer have to make the long journey to Mombasa to reach Nairobi by air.
