Air Uganda earns IATA membership

802

Air Uganda has been accepted into the International Air Transport Association (IATA), effective immediately. IATA has a membership of over 240 international airlines worldwide and a presence in over 115 countries.

The association provides a voice that supports and promotes the interests of its members by creating an international lobby for member airlines, setting the agenda priorities, driving industry change, training and operational standardisation. With IATA membership, Air Uganda will have access to the diverse IATA pool of knowledge and expertise, with more affordable training from its regional and global resource pool.

Air Uganda received IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification in 2012, which was renewed in 2014 for another two years. IOSA certification is a prerequisite to IATA membership.
