CemAir investigates Pretoria-Cape Town flights

1029

According to eTNW, CemAir, a scheduled South African airline that operates flights from O.R. Tambo International and Cape Town International to Margate, Plettenberg Bay and Sishen, is investigating the possibility of introducing scheduled flights from Pretoria to Cape Town International Airport.

The airline has been in discussions with the management team of Wonderboom Airport, north of Pretoria. There are currently no scheduled passenger flights from Pretoria and travellers have to commute to ORTIA or Lanseria International Airport in Johannesburg.

CemAir said the airport management team was confident that Wonderboom Airport was ready and adequately equipped to offer such a service.

In conjunction with Capital City Business Chamber, CemAir is conducting market research into the demand and economic feasibility of such flights.

CemAir’s CRJ 50-seat regional jets, designed for short to medium-haul flights, would serve the new proposed route.
