Ethiopian Airlines sent a Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Addis Ababa to Incheon International Airport on Tuesday (18 June) for its inaugural flight to Seoul, South Korea.

The flight coincided with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and South Korea. Through Addis Ababa, the four weekly flights will connect South Korea to many other African cities, including Johannesburg, Nairobi, Lagos, Accra and Dar es Salaam. Seoul is Ethiopian’s 73rd international destination.

There are plans for other international routes to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Manila in the Philippines, and Saigon, Vietnam, later this year.
