Fastjet adds another Mbeya flight

1372

According to eTurboNews, fastjet has confirmed adding extra flights in Tanzania, from Dar es Salaam to Mbeya Airport with immediate effect. That’s following main rival Precision Air’s announcement that it was suspending its flights, due to a ‘lack of aviation fuel’ on location – a major factor in operating the route as a loss.

Precision has been using a smaller and slower turboprop ATR aircraft for the service, while fastjet is operating an Airbus A319 on the route. The advantages of the A319 over the ATR are speed, seat numbers and the capacity to uplift a full fuel load.

No information could be obtained from fastjet on its timeframe to commence flights to other regional destinations, or its proposed start-up date in Kenya.
