According to eTNW, Flyafrica.com has cancelled its flights due to take place today (July 25), Sunday (July 27) and Wednesday (July 30), following the cancellation of its inaugural flight this past Wednesday. This was after a decision by the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) to revoke the airline’s South African pilot’s validation to fly.
“We are unclear as to the reasons that our original issued validations were withdrawn at such late notice. However, we are working with the CAAZ to understand this issue and to meet any requirements they need,” the airline said in a statement.
The airline will offer passengers affected by the cancellations a flight on another airline, on the same day, to minimise disruption to their travel plans, or a flight on flyafrica.com at a later date of their choice. All affected passengers will also be offered a free flight on flyafrica.com.
