Gautrain implements revised timetable

Gautrain, Johannesburg’s rapid rail public transport system, has increased the number of trains running during peak hours, and has also reduced the time interval between trains.

From 1 June, trains increased from five to six per peak hour, while the train service intervals during peak periods has been reduced from 12 to 10 minutes. The earlier and later departure times on the service between Sandton and O.R. Tambo International Airport, that were introduced recently, remain unchanged. 

Additionally, fares between Sandton and the airport have increased from $10.80 (R135) to $11.40 (R142), while Park Station to Pretoria has increased from $5.16 (R64) to $5.50 (R68) during peak times, and $4.40 (R55) to $4.60 (R58) during off-peak hours. The fare between Pretoria and Rhodesfield has also increased, from $4.90 (R61) to $5.16 (R64) in peak time, and from $4.40 (R55) to $4.60 (R58) during off-peak hours.
