Background
Opening approximately five years ago, the elegant Maple Cottage filled a gap in the Nigerian hospitality industry and emerged as the perfect answer to the need for plush and sophisticated boutique hotels. Since then it’s been a reliable choice for business travellers, especially those who prefer apartment-like accommodation for longer stays.
What is it like?
A blend of a quiet business atmosphere, together with a warm ambience of homeliness. Maple Cottage is a peaceful getaway from the usual hustle and bustle of the Lagos city environment. The classic, one-storeyed hotel has a team of well-trained, hospitable and friendly in-house staff, offering 24-hour service. The car park is large enough for 35 cars and is securely guarded by able-bodied guards.
Where is it?
Strategically located within the residential Lekki peninsula, Maple Cottage is a 10-minute drive from Mobil Oil headquarters. It is just a stone’s throw from Victoria Island, the business and financial capital of Lagos. Maple Cottage also has easy access to Lekki Medical Centre and several other private clinics, and The Palms Shopping Mall is just three minutes away. Taxis can be contacted within a few minutes to transport guests from the hotel to their destination.
Room Facilities
Being a boutique hotel, Maple Cottage has just 20 stylish air-conditioned Wi-fi enabled rooms. Each of its distinctive and elegant suites is superbly furnished with a comfortable queen-sized bed, satellite television, mini-refrigerator with complimentary water, dressing mirror, wardrobe and reading table. The en suite bathroom is equipped with fluffy towels, toiletries and a water heater. All the room doors have a computerised electronic entry lock, so guests can be sure of a secure stay. The Superior Suite offers extra terry-lined, cotton piqué bathrobes, a luggage stand, in-room safe and a clear view of the beautiful lagoon, while the majestic Maple Suite has all of these plus a private living room with extra LCD plasma screen and a DVD player. Laundry services are available on request.
Restaurant and Bars
There are two bars – the African Bush Bar for a feel of the refreshing African breeze, while sipping any of the hotel’s wide choice of red or white wine, or spirits, and the striking Buddha Bar for the more reserved guests who prefer relaxation in the solitary and calming Buddha-themed environment. The extensive wine list comprises assorted selections from Italy, France, the United States (California) and South Africa. The restaurant is situated adjacent the Buddha bar and has earned a good reputation, thanks to its array of African and continental à la carte cuisine. The restaurant operates until late at night, while kitchen services are available at any time of the day.
Conference Facilities
Executive meetings can be held in the sophisticated 25-seater conference room, which comes with a projector, laptop, flip chart, podium and training stationery, as well as sweets and water. The hotel’s experienced conference service professionals will make your booking seamless and stress-free. A buffet service is provided during business meetings and events, on request.
Leisure Facilities
Guests can keep fit and trim in the hotel gym, which is adequately equipped with various fitness machines. Guests can also take refreshing long walks, feeling secure in the serene and hassle-free neighbourhood of the hotel.
Verdict
A quality, well-situated and well-serviced boutique hotel and a perfect venue for the business traveller, who prefers a homely environment.
