IHG strengthens sales support in South Africa

InterContinental Hotels Group has launched a dedicated regional sales office in Johannesburg. This is IHG’s sixth sales office to open in the Asia, Middle East and Africa region.

The sales office has been set up to provide IHG’s corporate partners based in South Africa with on-ground support and real-time service. The sales team will also work closely with IHG’s 10 hotels in South Africa to help them maximise the sales tools and resources provided by the company.

“Market sentiments are positive in South Africa. It’s the third most attractive travel market on the continent and a major contributor to the local economy, contributing over 1.4 million jobs last year,” said Nick Barton, Chief Commercial Officer, AMEA, IHG. 

IHG currently operates 26 hotels across five brands in Africa, including InterContinental,Crowne Plaza,Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites, with a further five hotels in the development pipeline due to open in the next three to five years. IHG has 10 hotels open across four brands in South Africa: InterContinental,Crowne Plaza,Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
