Kenya postpones new visa regulations

1037

According to eTurboNews, the Kenyan High Commission has, following protests by the Kenyan tourism sector and South African-based travel agents, postponed the implementation of new visa requirements for South Africans from 1 July to 1 September (see story here).

The only way to obtain the visa is by personal appearance at the Kenya High Commission in Pretoria for biometric processing. This, combined with a five-day waiting period for the visa to be issued, is likely to slow the flow of tourist traffic from South Africa into Kenya
