According to TNW, Airlink has applied to the South African Department of Transport for a number of new routes, as well as additional capacity and frequencies on some of its existing regional routes.
Among other routes, the South African airline has applied for three flights a week between O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and Nosy Be, Madagascar; 650 seats a week between Durban and Nampula, Mozambique; and two return flights a week between Cape Town and Manzini, Swaziland. If granted, these will all be potential new routes for the carrier.
