About: The NDC is a 220 kilometre, multi-day extreme endurance footrace, which tests a person’s physical and mental limits. Competitors from all over the world test themselves against the elements: extreme heat, rugged terrain, rocky mountains and the famous Sesriem Canyon. There are five stages ranging from 28–60 kilometres over five days. The stages are arranged to cover the most spectacular and varied part of the area. Each stage consists of several legs, whereby competitors must pass through a checkpoint to collect water and where medical assistance is also available. The race culminates in the summiting of two of the highest dunes in the world, namely Dune 45 and Big Daddy.
