Carlson Rezidor has announced the scheduled opening of its latest African hotel – the Park Inn by Radisson Abuja Kaura in Nigeria. The full service mid-market property will feature 150 rooms and is scheduled to open early in 2015.
“Nigeria is a focus country for our business development. The country’s economy is one of the fastest growing worldwide, and we see considerable growth potential for our core brands, Park Inn by Radisson and Radisson Blu. With this signing, we are bringing our portfolio in Nigeria to eight hotels in operation and under development,” said Wolfgang M Neumann, President and CEO of Rezidor.
Carlson Rezidor’s Nigerian pipeline features Park Inn by Radisson hotel locations in Lagos, Abeokuta and Abuja. In the upscale segment, the group is already present with a Radisson Blu in Lagos, and has two hotels under development in Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Carlson Rezidor now counts 51 hotels in operation and under development throughout Africa.
The new Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Abuja Kaura will be located in the Kaura district of Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, less than 25 kilometres from the international and domestic airport. Besides 150 rooms, the property will offer a restaurant and bar, club and business lounges, meeting and conference facilities of 2,000m², a gym, a wellness spa, a rooftop bar and an outdoor swimming pool.
