Ethiopian Airlines has changed the ultra-long-haul route from Addis Ababa to Los Angeles to transit through Lome (Togo) as of 17 December and will start a new route from Addis Ababa to Dublin (Ireland) via Madrid (Spain) on 15 December.
The new route will be the only and first of its kind to connect West Africa with the West Coast of the USA with a direct flight.
There also a new route to Russia starting on 1 December.
The flight will transit through Istanbul.
Flight ET0504 will leave Ethiopia at 08h20 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and land in Lome at 11h10.
The flight will continue to Los Angeles at 12h25, arriving at 19h35.
The return flight will depart LAX at 21h35, land in Togo at 19h35, leave again at 20h50 and arrive in Addis Ababa at 05h40 the following morning.
The flight to Dublin, ET0712, will take off from Ethiopia at 23h50 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and land in Madrid at 05h20.
The flight will continue at 06h20 from Spain and land in Ireland at 08h00.
The return flight, ET0713, will leave Dublin at 16h45 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and arrive in Spain at 20h30, continuing on at 21h30 and making a final landing in Ethiopia at 07h00.
Flight ET0760 will leave Addis Ababa at 23h45 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and land in Istanbul at 04h55.
It will continue on at 05h55 and arrive in Moscow at 08h35.
The return flight, ET0761, will leave Russia at 21h20, land in Istanbul at 23h55, take off at 01h05 and land in Ethiopia at 06h25.
