The Ritz in Cape Town to re-open soon

1016

The Ritz hotel in Cape Town will re-open on the 15th of December.

That’s after a R120-million ($8.7m) renovation.

The hotel has been operating since the early 1970s, but over the decades this once-stylish property slowly lost its lustre until, in 2016, the Ritz Hotel Management Company saw an opportunity to revitalise it.

The hotel has 213 rooms but will re-open with 114 rooms, with the balance to be completed during 2018.

Each room has panoramic views of both the city and Atlantic Ocean.

The Ritz’s famous revolving restaurant is on the 23rd floor, whilst one floor below is the Dom Perignon Champagne Lounge.

The 21st floor has the Hennessy Cognac Cigar Lounge and the CASA Restaurant & Cabanas will bring a touch of Miami South Beach glamour to Sea Point, with all day al fresco dining that ranges from brasserie classics to sushi and wood-fired pizza
