According to eTurboNews, RwandAir will launch flights to Douala, Cameroon from Kigali on 30 March. This is the airline’s 16th destination overall and fifth in West Africa.

The airline has chosen to use a CRJ900NextGen on this route – it features seven seats in Business Class and 68 in Economy. The route will initially operate four times a week – on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Now operating with a fleet of four Boeing B737s, two 800NG, two 700NG and two Bombardier DRJ900s, the airline’s next brand new aircraft is due for delivery in just a few weeks’ time. A Bombardier Q400, also configured with a Business and Economy Class cabin layout, will be delivered at the end of February, replacing a Dash 8-200 turboprop on the domestic route to Kamembe and regional routes to Bujumbura and Entebbe, among others.
