Sun International will be closing its Fish River Sun resort in South Africa’s Eastern Cape at the end of November, due to economic pressure and an ongoing land claim dispute.
The property is on some of the land making up part of the dozen farms and small holdings being claimed as historical land by local communities.
Sun International highlighted that the economic pressure and subdued trading‚ taken together with the land claim uncertainty‚ had made cross-subsidisation by its Boardwalk property in Port Elizabeth increasingly unaffordable.
