According to eTNW, Thai Airways has announced that it will pull its South African route from its network in January 2015.

The airline’s last flight from South Africa will take place on January 14, and any passengers booked after this date will be re-accommodated on other airlines.

Thai Airways is the only airline to offer direct flights from South Africa to Bangkok. From January, passengers will have to fly via Singapore or Dubai to reach Thailand.

Thailand is the second most popular leisure destination for the South African market, after Mauritius.
