Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner takes to the skies above South Africa this month, servicing the London Heathrow-Johannesburg route.
The aircraft is configured with 31 upper class, 35 premium economy and 198 economy seats.
Upper class passengers will enjoy a new iteration of Virgin Atlantic’s ‘Upper Class Suite’ which incorporates all of the popular features along with some new design elements.
There is a refreshed premium economy cabin and a social space where customers can stretch their legs and mingle with other passengers – the Wander Wall.
A new feature onboard is dynamic mood lighting, which changes colour throughout the flight to help passengers relax and unwind, fall asleep and even adjust to time zones. Other features include larger, electronically dimmable windows, higher ceilings and onboard connectivity from take-off to touchdown.
“We have worked with our partners at Boeing and Panasonic to bring wi-fi connectivity across all our cabins as well as updating our touchscreen in-flight entertainment,” said Liezl Gericke, Virgin Atlantic’s Country Manager.
