Starwood Hotels & Resorts recently announced that it will soon introduce the Westin brand to Egypt, with the opening of The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes early next year.

Owned by New Cairo for Real Estate Investment Company SAE, the resort will be located within the Katameya Dunes development, a 1.8 million square metre luxury residential compound in the New Cairo City District, 20 minutes from Cairo International Airport.

The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes will be built within a residential community, featuring a 27-hole championship golf course designed by Nick Faldo and Brian Curley.

The Westin Cairo will offer 127 rooms, one presidential suite, and four dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a café, a bar and a lounge. Spanning 12,500 square metres, the hotel will provide other facilities such as a ballroom, The Heavenly Spa by Westin, the golf course, a pool, fitness centre and a 24-hour business centre.
